I bought a frame of a Pop-up camper and there was nothing left except the frame. It has now been turned into a trailer for my amusement company. I'm trying to find the VIN so i can register and insure it, but the only place it is posted is on the front of the frame and it is now unreadable since it was hit with the grinder when we painted the frame. Is there anywhere else it could be posted? All that I can read is ATWOOD on the frame.

That's the only spot on the frame. They usually have one on the door opening as well, but it sounds like you don't have access to that.

my husband is driving me absolutely insane!! ok, here goes…he wants to buy a popup camper. he is looking for an older model ( as we dont have alot of money to spend, approx. 500.00 ) that could use some TLC. the problem is that he can only find newer models. any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated as i dont think i can stand another night of headaches and nausea!!!

Hi Jen,

I loved your note! I definitely feel your pain.

The key question is, will you have more headaches and nausea or fewer if your husband actually does find an old pop-up camper?

A problem with old pop-up campers is that they leak, they smell, and they make truly ugly yard ornaments.

As unbelievable as it is, you might actually want to urge your husband to spend MORE MONEY on one, more than $500. More money might take care of the leaks and the smell. Nothing will eliminate the ugly yard ornament feature, though.

Here is the most disturbing fact: your husband can probably get an old pop-up camper for FREE! Why is that disturbing? Well, ask yourself, “Hmm, why are people giving these things away??”

The answer is because they leak, they smell and they are ugly. And spouses who didn’t resist hard enough up front now know that they REALLY, REALLY don’t like the thing because, well, they leak, they smell and they are ugly. Plus most them are rest homes for aged rodents.

Okay, okay, I may be overstating things somewhat. But heed the “free pop-up camper” ads. People can’t get rid of these things fast enough. There’s a reason for that. Usually she’s looking out of the window.

How about this? How about holding out for “Let’s just rent one a few times and see how it goes”? That almost always cures Old Pop-Up Fever because the rentals are newer. And often it cures Basic Pop-Up Fever. And your backyard isn’t ugly.

Craigslist.org is the best place to look. That’s largely because the ads are free. Nobody would try to sell one of these things in a paper that charged real money for an ad. I mean, talk about throwing good money after bad.

Shoot, if your husband stopped at 10 houses with older pop-up campers sitting in the back yard, he’d come home with five free ones and unbelievable offers on four of the other five.

How about if the two of you spend a weekend trolling around town, peaking in backyards? You’ll make some spouse very, very happy.

______________

In a more serious vein, I’ll copy in some ads from boston.craigslist.org. The first one is my favorite.

This is a 1989 sunlite camper whose walls collapsed under 1000 lbs of ice over the winter. I bought this camper in october and used it once. The canvas's are pristine, the axle & wheels are excellent, the floor is excellent as well. There is a stove n fridge inside (dont know if they work-didnt have chance to use em) Is roadworthy..taken to upper NH n back easily! Solid. Could be used for trailer or camper for the right person to fix. (the lockin arms broke/bent;) but some say it can be fixed. It's obviously covered to protect it from weather..if interested I can take more photos to send…serious inquiries only..thanks

I have a 30 or 35 foot camper, that you pull with a truck, that I have been using for storage for a few years. It was on the property when I moved in but now I want it out of my yard. Free. Just come and tow it away. Needs work.

I am cleaning the rest of my storage items out of it tomorrow and would love to see it gone. Dont expect much but the price is right.

This trailer is in very good condition for its age. We last used it last summer. No leaks. Electric and water hookups. Inside stove works. No battery or water tank. We didn't need it and this made the trailer lighter to tow. Small electric dorm size refrigerator included.
8 foot box, two 48" wide pullout beds. We reupholstered when we bought it about 5 years ago.
Awning attached. Pulls easy. Weighs about 1000 lbs.
Great Coleman quality. We put off buying a newer one until now because they are all basically the same.

i have two missing.it goes to a rockwood pop up camper.

You could contact your local RV dealer, but I suggest going to Home Depot or Lowe's, etc. and finding something that would work in the hardware section.

FOLKESTONE/DOVER EARTHQUAKE APPEAL

An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit Folkestone & Dover
in
the early hours of Saturday Its epicentre was in Folkestone. Victims
were
seen wandering around aimlessly, muttering "Faaackinell". The tremor
decimated the area causing approximately £30 worth of damage.Several
priceless collections of mementos from Majorca and the Costa del Sol
were
damaged beyond repair.
Three areas of historic burnt out cars were disturbed. Many locals were
woken well before their giros arrived.
Invicta FM reported that hundreds of residents were confused and
bewildered
and were still trying to come to terms with the fact that something
interesting had happened in Folkestone. One resident - Tracy Sharon
Smith, a
15-year-old mother of 5 said, "It was such a shock, my little
Chardonnay-Mercedes come running into my bedroom crying. My youngest
two,Tyler-Morgan and Victoria-Storm slept through it all. I was still
shakingwhen I was skinning up and watching Jeremey Kyle the next
morning."

Apparently looting, muggings and car crime were unaffected and carried
on as
normal. The British Red Cross has so far managed to ship 4,000 crates
of
Sunny Delight to the area to help the stricken locals.

Rescue workers are still searching through the rubble and have found
large
quantities of personal belongings, including benefit books, jewellery
from
Elizabeth Duke at Argos and Bone China from Poundland.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
This appeal is to raise money for food and clothing parcels for those
unfortunate enough to be caught up in this disaster. Clothing is most
sought
after - items most needed include Fila or Burberry baseball caps, Kappa
tracksuit tops (his and hers), Shell suits (female), White sport socks,
Rockport boots and any other items usually sold in Primark.

Food parcels may be harder to come by, but are needed all the same.
Required
foodstuffs include: Microwave meals, Tins of baked beans, Ice cream,
Cans of
Colt 45 or Special Brew.

22p buys a biro for filling in the compensation forms.
£2 buys chips, crisps and blue fizzy drinks for a family of 9.
£5 buys B&H and a lighter to calm the nerves of those affected.

***Breaking news***

Rescue workers found a girl in the rubble smothered in raspberry
alco-pop.
'Where are you bleeding from?' they asked, "Aylesham" said the girl,
"wossit
gotta do wiv you?"

Please don't forward this to anyone living in Folkestone/ Dover - oh,
sod
it… they won't be able to read it anyway.

Very good it must have taken you all day to type that

I had a pop-up given to me it's approx. 1970-75 roughly 8×10'closed and the only marking that I can find say Lark Goshen, Ind.Also there's a tag near the door that say's complies with national elec. codes. The camper is in excelent cond. except for the tent. If anyone can offer any help or knoledge I would greatly appreciate it!

Your pop-up trailer should list the manufacturer on the title. If it doesn't then try these.
This is the only thing I could find for RV manufacturers in Goshen Indiana.
Keystone RV Company
2642 Hackberry Drive
Goshen, IN. 46526
http://www.keystonerv.com/index.php
There is a company that makes "Lark" brand travel trailers and I can't find it. Sorry. You can try and contact the people below they may be able to help you out.
http://www.popuptrailercanvas.com/pop-up.htm
They sell replacement canvas for pop-ups and will probaby be able to tell what brand and year of pop-up you have.
Good Luck and Happy Camping!
