How do i get past the start up on my laptop without the blue screen of death popping up?

i have a 2000 compaq modeled laptop with windows 2000 installed onto it, and i recently installed a wireless card onto it. it asked me to restart and after restarting it, the bluescreen of death popped up. it told me to restart again if this was the first time i had seen the screen so i did. the 2nd time and every time after i restarted it, on the boot up, where it says windows 2000 ,the blue screen of death popped up. i've tried entering the windows 2000 emergancy restore cd into the cd drive, but that doesn't help either. if anyone could help me i'd be vey much thankful.

Try taking out the wireless card if you havent already tried it.

Assuming the above didn't work, tap F8 before Windows starts up (just after the first boot up screen) and select Safe Mode from the menu. Hopefully this will boot Windows into Safe Mode (no drivers etc loaded) allowing you to uninstall the device and its drivers / applications. Hopefully that will get you back up.

Finally you can boot in safe mode and try using System Restore to resotre Windows to a date before you made these changes, assuming you have System Restore turned on before this happened…

Most likely you will have to re-install the operating system. Put in the restore CD that came with it and re-install windows.
