OK. You’ve seen your neighbor’s new camper trailer, or you’ve been to the RV Show you may have even looked at an RV on a lot. You want one but you don’t want to get taken either. How do you find an Keystone RV Dealer you can trust to give you a good deal that will stand behind their product at the same time? Ask them questions. It is that simple.
What is their record of servicing their customers and efficiency of their service department. Ask to tour the service department and if it is cluttered and dirty then you will know how they treat their customers. Ask them for names and phone numbers of previous customers and then contact those customers before you buy and ask their opinions. People are pretty honest for the most part and will give you a fair evaluation of the place where they bought their RV. By the way, if the dealer you are talking to does not have an on-site service department leave immediately and don’t look back. You might get a cheaper price but when the RV breaks down, and it will, you will pay a lot more in the end.
Ask your saleman questions during the product demonstration and notice how he acts. If he is arrogant and stuffy, talks down to you, doesn’t look you in the eye, or doesn’t answer a question completely, then you probably will want to look around some more. You will know when you have a good saleman if they tell you not only the features of the coach but also the benfits you will receive. That way you will know which Keystone RV will best fit your needs. The quality of the dealership is directly related to the quality of their employees. This is an undeniable truth of life.
You will need to ask more questions if you are financing your RV. Like what is the interest rate? If the interest rate they quote you is more than 11/2% over prime and you have good credit, turn it down. They will either come down or you can find another RV to buy. However, if your credit is not so good then be prepared to pay higher interest. Ask if it is a simple interest loan? That means no pre-payment penalties and all funds paid above the payment is applied directly to the principle. Is there a balloon payment? Are the payments equal throughout the life of the loan? If they are not, don’t buy the RV, it will come back to bite you later on.
A good Keystone RV Dealer is upfront with their pricing and their finance terms. A good indication of how well a dealership desires to take care of their customers after they buy is when they have an well stocked parts department and an active service department. A good Keystone RV Dealer can be your best friend or worst enemy. The majority of RV Dealers are good and honest and want to help people get the RV they want and teach them how to have fun using it. Find one near you, make a deal and then “GO RVing.”
