Why Your Caravan Needs A Cover!
icon1 admin | icon2 Uncategorized | icon4 01 31st, 2010| icon3No Comments »

The potential damage that can be caused by leaving a vehicle outside in bad weather is well known. Few people with garages take such a risk with their car during the winter months. You protect your car from the elements as much as possible, so it makes good sense to do the same with your caravan. Just like your car, your caravan needs care and attention, to reward you with many years of pleasurable caravanning and, when you come to replace it, keep depreciation to a minimum.

Even finding somewhere to store your caravan during the winter months is not sufficient though, as the rain that falls in April contains the same acids as the rain that falls in December. Leave that rain water to build up on your caravan for too long and the deterioration soon starts, along with a probable development of sludge and green algae on the roof.

It is not just the wet weather that is a problem either, the powerful UV rays of the sun can damage the paintwork, tires and upholstery. Then, in addition to the weather, there is also bird droppings, scratches, and thieves to worry about.

So, what can you do about this? Well, if you do not have space in your garage, and do not fancy paying extortionate storage fees all year, then a good caravan cover is just what you need. It can save you a lot of both hassle and expense, and leave you to spend your time enjoying your caravan rather than cleaning and repairing it.

Caravan covers these days have come a long way from being simply a plastic sheet. Now they are made from polypropylene, which is a versatile material that is both tough and resistant to chemicals, oil, grease and heat. As well as being strong, they are also flexible and totally waterproof. They will literally cling to the outside of your caravan, and stop even an absolute downpour from getting even a single drop of water on it.

Your caravan is an investment and deserves sound protection. Look after it all year round and you will reap the maximum benefit from it. Time spent on good ‘over-wintering’ will pay off when it comes to the spring and the wise caravanner will follow a check-list of jobs to do before settling it into hibernation. Removing all the contents, leaving the fridge door open and giving the caravan a good clean and polish will all stand you in good stead for next season and rounding everything off with a good quality caravan cover will be a job well done.

Three Reasons Why The Keystone Outback Is #1
icon1 admin | icon2 Uncategorized | icon4 01 31st, 2010| icon3No Comments »

Keystone Outback Travel Trailer

There are a lot of travel trailers on the market today and they all have good features. The Keystone Outback is the number one selling travel trailer in the industry according to RVIA. Here are three reasons why this is true.

The first reason is the towability of the Outback. With 1 ½” box welded aluminum frame and a fully laminated fiberglass sidewall, The Outback by Keystone is the lite-weight giant of the RV industry. The construction features combined with the one piece enclosed and heated under-belly means that Outback is the most aerodynamic RV on the road. This translates into the fact that even the largest Outback Travel Trailer can be towed safely by your standard half ton pickup or full size SUV. The Keystone Outback is truly the easiest towing travel trailer in the country.

The second reason the Outback is number one is the interior appointments. There is not another travel trailer in this class that offers the luxury of LCD TVs, real wood cabinets, flush floor slide-outs and optional King Sized Beds. You will never run out of room because every Outback has a full kitchen and lots of storage. Even the sofa sleeper is a full sized air mattress so your guest will not have sleep with that support bar in their back. Combined with the u shaped dinette, Outback provides much more comfort and living space than all other trailers in its class. The Keystone Outback is the most livable lite weight RV you can own. It’s just that simple.

The third reason the Outback Travel Trailer is the best is the affordability of the Outback. There are cheaper trailers out there to be honest. However, none of those other trailers have the features of the Keystone Outback. Other manufacturers save money by scrimping on the construction and interior luxuries and claim to be just as good as the Outback. Other trailers just cannot compete pound for pound and dollar for dollar. When you compare apples to apples in terms of construction, aerodynamics and interior luxuries, there is no other travel trailer on the road that you can pull with a half ton vehicle that offers the amenities of the Outback. It is truly an affordable, lite-weight travel trailer for every family and budget. But don’t just take my word for it, stop your local Keystone Outback RV Dealer and see for yourself why the Outback is number one and will stay there for many years to come.

Classic Trailers
icon1 admin | icon2 Uncategorized | icon4 07 15th, 2009| icon3No Comments »

When I first decided on making a website of Vintage Travel Trailers for Sale, I thought, “Who in the world would be looking for old travel trailers”.  And much to my surprise, there are quite a few people still interested in the classical {travel} trailers.

As I read more and more, my mind went back to 1965 when I was just a girl of eighteen.  Oh what a great life we had back then, huh? After retiring from the military, my Father found old friends that he had known in the past.  His name was Red Martin, just in case anyone remembers him.  His wife was Maggie and their son was Butch.  Also, Jim and Laverne Weis were great fun to be around and also involved with Kenskill travel trailers. So, continuing on with the memories. We were in Orange County before moving. to Granada Hills, Ca.  There my Dad, Mom and myself nestled into our new life of being civilians. We relocated to that area to be closer to where my Dad worked at Kenskill Travel Trailers.Dad went to travel shows to exhibit the newest ones that were for sale.Remembering a show that I went to with my parents was really memorable.  It was at Dodger’s Stadium in the outside parking lot with all of the new travel trailers and some classical vintage travel trailers from the 1940’s.  We were all very close back then in the travel trailer business.  Most of the time, my Dad would be whistling the song “Trailers for Sale or Rent”.  Great times were in abundance! In order for all of us to definitely keep our thoughts about classic travel trailers and how they used to be, this internet page will be around forever.

The classical trailers at that time were more of the long long trailer and Kenskill was at the height of making the 18’ classic enclosed trailer for smaller families to be able to go camping for the weekend.  Kenskill was a big name in the 1960’s in California.A much cherished travel family treasured by all.  The travel trailer supplies and equipment were top of the line for those days.  The used airstream classic travel trailer was the biggest competition. The Kenskill Company only turned out high-quality trailers and their supply stocks were plentiful.  Sadly, the vintage camping trailers are all but a few.  You might be able to at least see one if you are lucky enough to get to a big trailer tradeshow in a large city.If you could see one, you would be amazed, and to purchase one would be awesome.  I guess if I really added up the years, you could call them antique travel trailers now.  But I won’t, because that will make me feel too old!

Let’s not forget the classical airstream trailers.  They are also a true work of art with their curved wood panels in the interior to the flashy silver streak trailers on the outside.  A used Airstream classic travel trailer is a legend in the truest sense of classic travel trailers.Amongst the groups of people that are in clubs that persue the Airstream trailers is very large.  You can always find trailer supplies through catalogs to spruce yours up, if you are lucky enough to own one.

Let me say a little more about these wonderful antique trailers that you can buy.For the restocking of your trailer’s necessities, going to different websites is a suggestion.  I almost forgot to mention two more classic trailers.  They are the vintage tag-a-long camper and the 1951 vintage vagabond trailer. All were special days of slow-going lives, longer weekends and many days of family fun in the camping trailers back then.
Thanks for reading my article on Vintage Travel Trailers and maybe having some of your memories take you back to those great times.I think my right ear is hearing the song “Trailers for Sale or Rent”, can I be dreaming!

To fond memories of vintage travel trailers for sale!

A recreational vehicle (RV) is a great way to travel and spend quality time with the family for many people today. The specialty RV lifestyle allows you freedom of the road, great time space and the ability to enjoy a great nature. The choice is something small like a VW Campervan, a larger Motorhome or RV fifth wheel or a truck hitch type.

As the baby boomers retire, the recreational vehicle industry has seen an upsurge in sales. For many people, nothing measures up to the independence and flexibility of enjoying the open road in a recreational vehicle (RV). There is certainly much to be said for taking your hotel with you wherever you go, and the savings on hotel costs can more than pay for the initial cost of an RV.

Current recreational vehicle travelers are aware of the huge savings of this type of travel. There are no hotel rooms to book and dining in your RV can save an enormous amount of money compared to eating in restaurants every day. Owning a fifth wheel or travel trailer, whereas you can unhook your RV from your truck, saves you from having to book a rental car. For those in motor homes, many travelers will tow a vehicle behind them.

When considering the purchase of an recreational vehicle, you will be faced with three choices; a fifth wheel which is pulled by a pick up truck and attaches to a wheel inside the truck box (hence its name fifth wheel), a travel trailer which is usually pulled by a truck with a rear hitch, or a motor home. All three types of RV’s have their plus and minus factors and each point will need to be considered based upon your needs and your budget.Other consideration for the free RV lifestyle is the current price of gas. However, it is still more economical than staying in hotels and eating at restaurants every night.

Traveling in a recreational vehicle or motor home is often a good choice for those who want to travel to different locations; however, it may be less suited to those who visit the same location year after year. Travelers who visit the same location every year may find it more economical to buy a vacation home. Buying a vacation home, and renting it out when it is not being used, can be a good way to both save money on lodging and build equity for the future.

Many RV travelers come to love the freedom of the open road and the easy care lifestyle. Traveling cross-country and stopping a various parks along the way is a wonderful adventure. The traveler can choose to stay a day or as long as they want at a particular location.

A well-known fact in the RV community is the free camping at Walmart. In most states, you are allowed to camp in a Walmart’s parking lot for as long as you like. I am sure you have seen recreational vehicles lined up in Walmart’s parking lot at least on one occasion. This is a win-win situation for the traveler and Walmart. The travelers has a well-lit place for campus over the night, for free, and Walmart receives revenues from those RV owners who frequent the mall. However, recently there has been an uprising among campground owners against Walmart’s free camping policy. Therefore, it is well advised that you check with the local chamber of commerce before you decide to stay a week at Walmart. In all cases, you can save alot looking into these deals if you are up to get yourself a new motor home RV.
